  • Sivananda Yoga Teacher offering Private 1-2-1 Tuition In the comfort of Your Home

    > SIVANANDA HATHA YOGA TRADITION/ BEGINNERS' COURSE – 8 CLASSES > > The 5 Points of Yoga: > 1. Proper Exercise > 2. Proper Breathing > 3. Proper Relaxation > 4. Proper Diet > 5. Positive Thinking and Meditation > > The Yogic postures are called Asanas, a term which means steady pose. This is because the Yoga Asana(or posture) is meant to be held for some time. However this is quite an advanced practice. Initially, my concern is simply to increase your body flexibility and to develop stability in the root asana before one advances to variations of each asana. The beginners course is systematic, each class not only prepares you for the following class but there are additional asanas to each lesson. > The body is as young as it is flexible. Yoga exercises focus on the health of the spine, its strength and flexibility. The spinal column houses the all-important nervous system. By maintaining the spine's flexibility and strength through exercise, circulation is increased and the nerves are ensured their supply of nutrients and oxygen. The Asanas also affect the internal organs and the endocrine system (glands and hormones). I teach a beginner's course of Hatha Yoga, the style is called Sivananda Yoga. This course consists of eight classes lasting up to two hours each. Included in the lesson is a full explanation of the health benefits of each asana. I teach a private Yoga course for individual students and not an open class. The reason for teaching 1-2-1 is so that I can give my full attention to the needs of the student. It's important to build a firm foundation, working at a steady conscious pace. There are three terms: Course 1: Lasts for eight days with one yoga lesson per day. OR Course 2: Lasts for one month with two yoga lessons per week. OR Course 3: Lasts for two months with one yoga lesson per week. You decide whether or not you would like to complete the course in 8 days/one month or two months. I have three different rates so that Private Yoga tuition is available for all stratum's of society. If a student is experiencing financial difficulty it is possible to donate. If you need further information please write or call. Only people with a genuine interest and curiosity need apply. Thanks:) Kellie: 07466687596 email: sivanandayogateacher@gmail.com

  • Satyananda Mantra Sessions

Namo Narayan! If anyone is interested in Satyananda Yoga in he North West of England, then you may be interested to know that I and my wife (Poornamurti) are hosting Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra sessions on the last Saturday of each month (most months). Paramahamsa Satyananda said that everyone should change Mrityunjaya Mantra to help establish peace in the world. A great many of his followers, and in every Satyananda Centre, Mrityunjaya is chanted 108 times every Saturday evening. Poornamurti and I are both Karma Sanyassin, and believe we should provide people with the opportunity to learn and practice this mantra as directed by Paramahamsa-ji. As well as Mrityunjaya, we usually change Guru Stotram and a few other favourites. We often also have readings from suitable texts, and provide some light refreshment afterwards. At present, tese sessions are held in our modestly sized home, and whilst everyone is welcome, we do need to know if you are going to come as we may need to shift furniture etc to make space! The sessions are held in the Middleton area of Manchester, which is just off the M60 and the M62, and is very easy to find. If you are interested, you can see my blog at http://sannyassidharma.blogspot.com/ and leave a comment there, or you can contact me via this forum. Hari Om Dharma
